Welcome to IMTA
Since 1957, The Idaho Music Teachers Association has helped our collaborative community of musicians and music-teaching professionals connect and thrive through peer connections, ongoing education, and invaluable resources. Our state and local chapters are run entirely by volunteers. Our mission is to conduct programs and activities to build a vital musical culture and an enlightened musical public for the benefit and the general welfare of all persons. We aim to improve the quality of teaching, research, performance, and scholarship in music. This ensures a sustainable future for talented musicians and support for the arts throughout the state of Idaho through the support of professional music education.
Each year IMTA hosts multiple musical events including an annual state conference and state performance and composition competitions. These events bring together music teachers from the entire state, artists, students, and music professionals for two days of performance, education, and sharing.
